Times Higher Education ‘University of the Year’ nominations announced

Times Higher Education (THE) have announced their nominations for the 2018 ‘University of the Year’.

Widely regarded as the ‘Oscars’ of UK higher education, THE's gala event will take place in London November 29th with a select panel taking into account research, teaching and access, as well as evidence of imaginative and innovative initiatives.

The universities nominated for the award include the University of West London, the only post-1992 and London-based University to be shortlisted, as well as the University of Essex, Keele University, Newcastle University, Swansea University and University of York.

The University of Nottingham has been named the most health-conscious university in the UK following the release of a new study this week.


Nottingham, which was named Sports University of the Year in the 2019 The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide, was found to be the best university in the UK by offering cheap gym membership, regular mindfulness programmes and events to empower students with the tools for the best mental wellbeing.
